CIRCULATION
Pool water must be circulated for your pool care products to work their best. The more your water is in motion, the harder it is for bacteria and algae to take hold. And the more water that passes through the filter, the more debris is captured. The best time to circulate pool water is during the day, for 16 hours or more.
FILTRATION
The filter is the most important piece of equipment. It removes debris and keeps the water sparkling clear. When it gets dirty and the pressure builds up 6-10 pounds above normal, it should be backwashed. This will remove material trapped on or in the filter media. (Check manufacturer’s guidelines.) Because backwashing does not remove oils and deeply imbedded debris, every filter also needs to be chemically cleaned regularly.

CLEANING
At least once a week, vacuum the floor and then brush the walls and floor to assist with filtration. Even if you use an automatic pool cleaner or retain a weekly service, brushing is important.
TESTING
Testing your pool water regularly is the best way to keep your pool looking great. The tests for pH and active sanitizer (usually available chlorine residuals) are the most important and should be checked once or twice a week, more often if you are having challenges. Tests for total alkalinity and calcium hardness levels should also be done regularly. At Spring opening, every four to six weeks during the Summer, and before closing, bring in a water sample for us to test on our lab. This will help you maintain proper balance and greatly reduce the potential for problems.
WATER CARE
The last step in a total pool maintenance program is applying the right products to your pool water at the right time.
This will help you:
• Provide a sanitary swimming environment.
• Balance the water to protect the equipment and pool surfaces. Unbalanced water can permanently damage both.
• Provide brilliant, sparkling water that's inviting.
• Enjoy your pool!

CIRCULATION
Circulation allows the water to pass through the equipment and the filtration system. Along with allowing for filtration, circulation also provides distribution of the water care products throughout the hot tub. Run your circulation system daily. Check your spa owner's manual to determine frequency and lenght of filter cycle.
FILTRATION
Filtration helps keep the water clear by capturing oils, lotions and other foreign debris in the hot tub. When the filter is dirty or clogged the efficiency of the filter decreases causing the water to be cloudy. Every three to four months, when draining your tub, the filter should be chemically cleaned to remove oils and lotions.
TESTING
Testing the water gives you water balance information and lets you know when adjustments need to be made to keep the water safe, clear and comfortable for you. Properly balanced water protects the hot tub equipment from damage due to scale or acidic water.

DRAINING & REFILLING
Regular draining and refilling is a normal part of hot tub maintenance. Three to four months intervals are recommended to maintain safe and clear water.
